Basic income research is a collective endeavour
Without the financial support of nearly 200,000 donors from civil society, the first German research project on universal basic income would never have happened. Thanks to your support, research will continue to advance!

Basic income research is a collective endeavour
The Basic Income Pilot Project is the first German research project on universal basic income. The fact that it was possible at all is thanks to the financial support of nearly 200,000 donors from civil society. Without their support, we would not have been able to make new scientific breakthroughs. Their monthly donations enabled not only the basic income payments for study participants, but also the design, planning, and implementation of the study.
Basic income research is a complex and evolving area of research. While numerous experiments have been conducted globally, many were designed in ways that limited the significance of their findings, or were prematurely terminated due to changes in government. Sustained and reliable financial support is crucial to ensure the continued independence and long-term viability of such research.
The pilot project was just the beginning. The insights gained will now be integrated into the Mein Grundeinkommen (My Basic Income) lottery, run by the non-profit organisation behind the pilot project, and will help guide future research. While the individual-level effects of a basic income have now been demonstrated, insights into its broader collective and societal impact are still missing.
We rely on your support to finance this new research project.
